Maya will be a sporty little thing once she gets older. Well, at least she will like them. Maya made her way to a second Cubs game of the season. Again, it was Christina, Justin, Lyla, Maya, myself and Michelle got to come to this one. Thanks to the no smoking policy which Chicago has enacted, we were able to perform the entire Cubs game ritual. We started by dropping the girls and kids off at the Goose Island. Justin and I circled around looking for something other than $70 per car parking (no typo there, it was the Cross-Town Classic as they call it or for those non-Chicagoans reading this, the Cubs vs. White Sox series). So, as you can imagine, the ruthless parking vendors in Wrigleyville were asking ludicrous prices to park within a few blocks of the stadium. So, we circled for nearly an hour and ended up having to walk a 1/2 a mile or something silly like that (and we still paid $35).
Having that behind us, we nestled in at the Goose for a couple of pre-game beers. Maya loved it, she just hung out and looked around. She, like her Papa, loves to people watch. Because the parking fiasco took so long, we had to take off and head into the game. Once inside, Maya got to try her first “game-day peanuts and hot dog”. She liked them very much. She also learned the how to order a beer from the beer man, by keenly watching the fellow sitting next to us. Maya on top of walking now, also understands that she should clap when other people clap. This is too cute. Every time a run is scored, there is cheering and clapping and Maya is right along with all of the other fans clapping and screaming (ooooohhhhhhhhhaaaahhhhhhhhh). All in all, a great day. The Cubbies finished the sweep and we were there to see it!
Go Cubs Go....
