I Could Get Used To This...

Well, we have returned from lovely Sarasota, FL.  We were all just getting into the swing of things and we had to come back home.  The trip was a blast!  Lots of firsts for our littlest Angel.  Maya rode on the El for the first time, which lead to the airport, which lead to her first flight, to her first visit to the Sunshine state.  We got in around 7:00 p.m. so we were unable to enjoy the beach on day one, but rest assured, we found plenty of beach time in the days to come.

Day two brought Maya’s first visit to the beach.  It was quite an experience.  She got in the sand, didn’t know what to make of it, so she tasted it.  That didn’t work out so well, so she darted off towards the water.  Mommy and daddy kept a close eye and it was a good thing, Maya was chin deep in no time flat.  Long story short, she just loved the ocean and the beach.  She sat and played and played in the morning and afternoon tides.

By day three our routine had set in.  Maya gets up at 7:00, we are on the beach, walking down to the pier until about 8:00 at which point we are back at Nana and Papa Goebel’s for brekkie.  Following the morning nibbles, Maya goes down for her morning nap.  Michelle and I get ourselves together for the day at the beach.  At the beach by 10:30 or so, we’re out soaking up the vitamin D until 1:30 when we break for lunch and naps.  Come 3:00 we are back at the beach, mommy’s having a gin and tonic, daddy’s on his third or fourth beer and the sun is shining.  We head back up to the apartment’s around 4:30 to get ready to head for dinner.  We’re home by 7:00 and putting Maya down for the night at about 7:30.  All in all, a fabulous routine.

From the whole Angel family, thank you Marti and Bruce for a wonderful trip.  We all had a great time and it was a nice break from everyday life.  We always appreciate your kindness and hospitality!  Can’t wait for next year, I can just imagine that little Maya is already thinking about the glistening water and the morning shell hunting walks.

See you next time...
