Quick update of the past month. Not much is new, the Angels have just been busy with life in general. This weekends marks the passing of Maya’s first halloween. We unfortunately have been having camera issues and don’t have too many (any pictures really) of her enjoying the season. We have just a few of her discovering pumpkins at a local pumpkin patch. We went to the pumpkin patch about 2 weeks ago and had to pick the pumpkins out of boxes. This was our alternative to picking them off of the asphalt in a parking lot somewhere in Chicago. We went to Sonny Acres out in the burbs. A good patch, but I guess I was anticipating going to get my pumpkin from the for real patch, not the corrugated one. We went with our friends Christina, Justin and their new one little, Lyla. It was a fun day!
For Halloween, we went over to Christina and Justin’s to help them with the massive amounts of Chicagoan trick or treaters. We took over a Costco pot pie (Oprah recommended and absolutely fabulous), the fixins for a cranberry/pear pie, booze and candy. Needless to say, we had a fantastic dinner and a lot of fun checking out all of the little kiddie costumes. We pretty much saw everything from “Sweety” the kitten to “Tiny” the leave rustling penguin. We were all looking forward to next year when our little ones would be ale to walk (or be strolled) around in costume.
Now for Chub’s big doctors visit. We went in today (11/2). Maya weighed 14 pounds 14 ounces. She added a couple of pounds from her last visit. This puts her in the 75% for baby weight - meaning she weighs more than 75% of the babies her age. She grew to 24 1/4 inches. A growth of about 1 1/2 inches. For her height and head circumference she is in the 50%. She is mentally developing at a great clip. She is doing all of her 3-R’s, Rolling, Reaching and Raspberries. She also received her second set of vaccines and took them like a champ. Long story short, she is doing really well and we couldn’t be happier!
