Today was a big day for both Michelle and I. Mine was a big day because my co-workers threw me a daddy-baby shower. How fun! Our friend Sarah Bruton-Gibney was behind the whole ordeal. She is such a sweetheart.
I received a great deal of gifts, including gift cards, baby clothes, picture frames, california baby stuff and an awesome little cubby outfit from Adam and Lindsey (now I am on the hunt for a Bears uni for Maya, gotta represent)! They bought a giant cake filled with strawberries and bananas which was uber tasty. All in all, a wonderful day. It will probably be my last one in the office until I come back from Paternity leave. I plan on working from home until Michelle goes into labor and then will take 2 weeks off.
Michelle’s big day completely revolved around her enjoying her first day on Maternity leave. She got just a little taste of what it is like being a member of the non-working class. Overall impressions were that Michelle enjoyed her first day as a non-worker bee/mommy-in-training. In just one day she seems to have practiced and mastered the following skills (and probably in the following order):
- Morning eating
- Morning napping
- Entertaining (Kitties)
- Shopping
- Afternoon eating
- Afternoon napping
- Relaxing
- Communicating (with her mom, sister and her girls)
A very full day indeed! Note the picture above, this is what would have once been considered a rare photo of this mom-to-be, but I think that it will become quite common.
Michelle’s little shopping adventure was focused on finding me graduation presents. Yeah, T-Rex likes presents. NEW NEWS... I (Travis) finished my 2nd masters degree program over the weekend and am the proud owner of an MPM (Masters of Project Management). Like Indiana Jones, I am always in search of fortune and glory, so here’s (cheers) to hoping that this gets me one step closer.
Ta ta for today...
